November 19th

I left early for my 12-hour bus ride to Ushuaia. My seat was at the back, and although the bus was pretty full, I got lucky with an extra seat beside me. We pulled away from Puerto Natales, and I watched the coastline as we said goodbye to Chile for now. Listening to penguin podcasts, watching the changing landscape of coasts and mountains, napping, and staring off in silence contemplating my future and all my past mistakes lolll, the day went by pretty fast! Probably because it also felt like we were stopping once an hour with three gas station/restaurant breaks, two border stops and a ferry crossing, but somehow we arrived to Ushuaia an hour and a half earlier than expected.

The last 45 minutes before reaching the city were stunning. We drove through a valley with towering peaks, then got our first view of the city and the ocean all surrounded by mountains. Sol and her dad pulled up to the bus station, and we hugged and screamed much to the confusion of the other bus passengers. How weird and exciting to finally be in Ushuaia!
