I joined Sol’s family for dinner, where her mom, Gaby, taught me how to make sushi! We spent the evening cooking rice, slicing veggies, and chatting about her job hosting tour groups and the recipes she loves to make. I told her she’d hit it off with my mom since they share so many similar interests in cooking and hobbies. Learning to make sushi turned out to be way easier than I expected, and I’m already plotting when I’ll try to make it again—probably sooner rather than later. Once everything was ready, we sat down as a family to enjoy the meal, spending the rest of the evening deep in conversation.
